Below you can find some of the most important frequently asked questions about allergy testing.
  • Who does the test?
Dr. Dan Laszlo.  If you are interested in getting tested, make an appointment with Dr. Dan Laszlo for a consultation.

  • What is the purpose for this test?
The test is done to find out what you are exactly allergic to.

  • Is it important to know what you are allergic to?
Yes, if you are aware of what you are allergic to, then you can either get desensitized for the offending allergen or try to avoid the allergen.

  • How is the test done?
We put small amount of suspected allergens, the 36 most common allergens, on the back of your body.  We keep the allergen on the back for about 20 minutes and then Dr. Laszlo measures which allergen reacted positive with your body.  Depending on the severity of the reaction, there are different treatments, which will be discussed by Dr. Laszlo.

  • What kinds of allergen do we test for?
We test for pollen, grass, weeds, pet dander, and so on.

  • Are there any special precautions I need to take?
We instruct our patients not to take any antihistamine medications 2 weeks prior to the test, since the usage of antihistamines may lead to a false negative result, which means that the test was falsely negative DUE to the working of the antihistamines.
